有一個人近視很深，大家都叫他近視眼，因為看不清楚的緣故，他想看畫卻把鼻子給撞傷，想關窗戶卻夾到眉毛，好笑的是，想吹蠟燭竟然把鬍子燒光了。
有一天，他要去喝喜酒卻迷路了，便向路旁戴著黑帽的路人問路，對方都不說話，氣得他說：「你不告訴我，我也不跟你說你的黑帽子被風吹走了！」其實是佛像上停著一隻烏鴉，一說話牠就飛走了。這時他看到地上有一條黑繩和一塊黃金，伸手拿繩子，奇怪繩子怎麼斷了，其實是螞蟻大軍，接著把黃金拿起來，怎麼軟軟的，拿近一聞才知道是蕃薯。
吃喜酒時，他的對面分別坐著瞎左眼和瞎右眼的人，碰巧他們都把瞎眼遮起來，他就小聲問隔壁的人：「對面那位先生的臉怎麼那麼大？」後來知道自己看錯，臉紅到不行，只好低頭吃飯，沒想到，夾菜時又夾到別人的菜或筷子，甚至夾到別人的手，他只好把菜打包回家吃。
好不容易回到家，看到牆上有根釘子，便把袋子往上一掛，「碰！」袋子掉到地上，原來是隻蜻蜓，滿肚子火的他，想打蜻蜓出氣，用力往牆上一打，「啊！痛死我了！」這次打到的不是蜻蜓，是真的釘子。
There was once a near-sighted man. Everyone called him Big Near-sighted. Since he could not see clearly, he would bump his nose when trying to look at a painting, or hurt his eyebrow when trying to close the window. Once, he even burnt his beard while blowing out a candle.
One day, he got lost on his way to a bridal party. So, he decided to ask someone who was wearing a black hat for directions. However, that person did not reply. Big Near-sighted said angrily,“If you won’t reply, I shan’t tell you that your hat was blown away by the wind!”Actually, the person was a buddha statue, and the hat was actually a crow that flew away while he was talking. Then, Big Near-sighted saw a black rope and a bar of gold on the ground. He tried to pick up the black rope, but the rope broke. The rope turned out to be a trail of ants. He then tried to pick up the bar of gold, and wondered why it was so soft. Upon smelling it, he realized it was in fact, a sweet potato.
When he finally arrived at the bridal party, he sat opposite two people who were each blind in one eye. It so happened that both of them had covered their blind eye with a black patch. Big Near-sighted leaned towards the person sitting next to him and asked,“Why does that person have such a broad face?”When he finally realized his mistake, he blushed embarrassedly and began eating. However, he kept mistaking other people’s chopsticks or fingers for food. And so, he decided to pack his food and eat at home.
When he finally got home, he saw a nail on the wall and tried to hang his food on the nail. The food dropped onto the floor with a loud “Thud!”The nail turned out to be a dragonfly resting on the wall. Big Near-sighted felt so annoyed. He reached out to swat the dragonfly with his hand.“Ouch! That hurt!” he said. It turned out that he mistook a nail for the dragonfly, and hurt his hand instead.
